And Akmol Khan, head of science at Morpeth School in Bethnal Green, is running the Marathon to raise funds for the Daneford Trust, based in Bethnal Green. Joshua, a pupil at the Stephen Hawking Special School in Limehouse, was born six weeks prematurely and a lack of oxygen resulted in extensive brain damage He can get help from specialist charity the Bobath Centre in north London, but this comes at a price – £3,810 for a two-week block of physiotherapy. With the help of charities and fundraising, Joshua’s parents Tara and David Haroon have managed to fund five blocks of Bobath therapy, but they need money to continue the programme.
