Wapping fought off wave after wave of Walden attacks and managed to win one final short corner with five minutes of the game remaining. In the clash with the West Midlanders, Millwall found themselves 2-1 down, but Lauren levelled the scores with a strike from the edge of the box. And when the young Lions again found themselves trailing against the run of play, Lauren staged a late rescue act to earn Millwall a 3-3 draw. Last time Millwall faced Chelsea the game finished 4-2. This time Lionesses were even more convincing, winning 5-2 away. Lauren countinued her scoring streak by making it 3-1 when she followed up after the keeper deflected a save. Lauren showed there is more to her game than scoring goals, providing two assists as Millwall won in style and gained revenge for that previous defeat. Lauren is a regular at the FA Skills Centres at Mile End and Thamesmead and played for Victoria Park last season, who finished runners-up in the Echo League. She was also the only girl to compete in last year’s Mayor’s Cup where she received a runners-up medal in the under-10 group.
