Collection for Stairway memorial After Lie Back and Think of America, a collection is being held for the memorial to the Bethnal Green Tube Disaster of March 3, 1943 in which 173 people died after a false air-raid alert www.stairwaytoheavenmemorial.org Lie back & enjoy WWII comedy A COMEDY drama about a family from Bethnal Green in World War II comes to the Brady Arts Centre next weekend. Lie Back and Think of America follows the fortunes of the Smiths, whose daughter Sarah (played by Natalie Wilcox) wishes to pluck up the courage to tell her father the truth about her American GI boyfriend. Ahead of the production, the creative team are asking residents to send them any WWII photographs and memorabilia – plus any real or imagined evacuee letters – for a front-of-house display.
