Five-day bank holiday party BY RUSSELL COTMAN THIS May bank holiday Rich Mix is handing over the keys to the house creative maestro Tupac Martir. Having worked on production design, visuals and lighting direction for the likes of Elton John, Beyoncé and Coachella Music & Arts Festival, this is a man with an impeccable pedigree. Over five days, starting this Thursday, May 1, Looking Outside My Window will amalgamate music, art, dance, food, cinema and performance. It will feature music from James Lavelle, The XX, Múm, Addictive TV and Cabinet of Living Cinema. There will also be an installation by Bruno Zamborlin. Cinema screenings include childhood classics such as The Condorelli at Chisenhale CHISENHALE Gallery presents a new commission and first solo London exhibition by Céline Condorelli. This new body of work explores how relationships are articulated by the things that surround us in both useful and purposeless ways. Condorelli’s work is concerned with how all human action takes place amid structures of support – whether emotional, legal or physical – mostly taken for granted, and therefore often seeming to be invisible. She has explored this interest in her long-term collaborative project Support Structure (2003- 09) with Gavin Wade. Including a programme of discursive events, the exhibition is imagined as a context for co-existence – of objects, participants and audience – through doing and thinking. The exhibition starts on Friday, May 2 and runs until June 22 at the gallery in 64 Chisenhale Road, Bow – more details at www.chisenhale.org.uk The XX (left) will be performing at Looking Outside My Window.
