Professor Colin Jones, a historian from Queen Mary University of London in Mile End, has been made a CBE in recognition of his services to historical research and higher education. Professor Jones, who joined Q u e e n M a r y i n 2 0 0 6 , specialises in the history of medicine, eighteenth-century France, particularly the French Revolution, and caricatures. Robin Klassnik, the founder and director of Matt’s Gallery in Bow, was awarded the OBE for services to the visual arts. Faisel Rahman, managing director of Fair Finance, a social enterprise which offers debt advice, loans and financial literacy to excluded communities, has been awarded an OBE for services to community finance.
