Lions forced the Wildcats on to the back foot after going into a 12-2 lead and their opponents hit back to level the game at 24-24 early in the second quarter. By half-time, the visitors were ahead by a solitary point, but with Chez Marks finding his range when play resumed, Lions posted a decisive 29-13 third quarter. Youngster Blayne Freckleton joined the scorers as ten Lions made the scoresheet. Centre Kramer Knutson was outstanding with 15 points, six rebounds, three assists and three blocks, while playmaker Rod Brown had 13 points, ten assists and four steals.
