The council is making it easier for parents by offering a range of free activities for children and young people to enjoy throughout the break. The whole family can join in an exciting day at Bethnal Green Gardens in Braintree Street on Tuesday, February 18. Wrap up warm for Get Your Skates On (pictured right), which will feature a synthetic ice skating rink where residents can skate and play new age curling. Other activities on offer will include tennis, athletics, basketball, football, SNAG (community golf), storytellying, face painting, art and crafts, bouncy castle, coconut shy and more. Aimed at all ages, there is no need to pre-book, just turn up and enjoy. Activities start from 10am-4pm. To find out more call 7364 3348. Over at Victoria Park there will be wildlife-inspired arts and crafts event on February 17, bird box making on February 19 and den building on February 21 at the Hub building. All activities are free and run from 10am-12.30pm. To book a place call 7364 7968. At Idea Stores and libraries there is a half-term bonanza of activities with each venue hosting a series of events including story time and computer clubs. The council has a fantastic lineup of activities and workshops as part of the Mayor’s Activities for Young People this half-term. Sports, music production, cooking, glass painting and a residential trip are just some of the exciting activities available to youngsters.
