Fun all year in the parks More than 500 youngsters collected tasty treats at the egg hunt in Mile End Park. Organised by the council, the Children’s Playground in Mile End Park, Locksley Street, attracted excited crowds for an egg hunt on Sunday, April 5 where they had the chance to decorate their own eggs. Other activities included making daffodil windmills, where 150 children took part. Over at Victoria Park more than 300 youngsters took part in an Easter Eggstravaganza at the V&A Building. Children had the chance to take part in an egg hunt, arts and crafts and wear fancy bonnets. Skaters, boarders and BMX bikers tried out stunts, flips and air tricks at the Urban Wheelers Jam in Victoria Park, organised by the council’s parks and sports teams on April 8. The wheel park boasts a full cradle and coaches were available throughout the day demonstrating how to do tricks. More than 500 people attended the event where young people used their leg muscles to generate electricity to power the music s y s t e m u s i n g stationary bikes.
