develop skills and prepare children for the transition to secondary education through an accredited scheme called the Arts Award. The programme also saw teachers across the Poplar Partnership take part in professional workshops designed to help them develop new skills, broaden creative approaches to curriculum teaching, and have greater confidence in delivering arts learning in their schools. Workshops covered a wide range of topics from animation and textiles to art in the outdoor environment. The end of programme celebration was held last month at the Spotlight Youth Centre in Poplar. Rob Smith, head of education at Bow Arts, said: “It has been an absolute pleasure working with the Poplar Partnership schools. “Bow Arts’ consortium model is growing from strength to strength, as demonstrated by the fantastic work produced and skills learnt by pupils and teachers who have worked with our amazing professional artists.
