Various days and times. St Margaret’s House Settlement, 21 Old Ford Road, E2. THE Space arts and community centre has announced its programme of events from January until May 2015, beginning with a festival featuring solo performances by a range of theatre professionals. The One Festival returns for its third outing at the Isle of Dogs venue from January 7 to 18 and showcases the work of 17 individual acts, including a pop-up book storytelling, a Sid Vicious fanatic, a zombie puppet show and a musical for Sigmund Freud. Performances will be separated into programmes, with each one running on three days during the two-week residency. Centre director Adam Hemming said: “It’s hard to find opportunities to showcase shorter pieces of work and a lot of great material is underperformed as a result. The One Festival combats this by bringing people together to create four programmes of solo performance.” The Space is at 269 West Ferry Road, E14. Tickets for the shows cost £12/£10 and can be booked at www.space.org.uk 12 – 18 JANUARY 2015 NEWS FROM TOWER HAMLETS COUNCIL AND YOUR COMMUNITY GET A LIFE 5
