It targets young people aged 8-19 (with priority given to 13-19 year olds) or up to 25 years for those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Learning Difficulties and/or Disabilities (LDD). The programme allows young people to take part in diversionary activities through a variety of projects delivered by key partners throughout the holiday periods. Tower Hamlets Council is now inviting proposals from community and voluntary groups for targeted creative and developmental activities that meet the Help Children Achieve More (HCAM) key outcomes. Activities must be interactive and educative, with a view to focus on enhancing community cohesion and reducing youth related crime. Projects can focus on aspects such as arts, sports, environmental awareness, truancy prevention, education attainment, active citizenship, volunteering and personal development. We expect delivering agencies to have robust outcome driven approach through an integration approach with wider youth and community services and a meaningful accredited learning process in place. Organisations can apply for funding during the following holiday periods: • Easter half term (7th April – 18th April 2014) • May half term (26th May – 30th May 2014) • Summer holidays for up to 4 weeks (28th July – 29th August 2014) • Autumn half term (27th October – 31st October 2014) • February half term (16th February – 20th February 2015) Applications of up to £5,000 can be made during the Summer holiday, up to £3,000 during Easter half term and up to £2,000 for each of the other holiday periods. MAYP assessment panel will assess all applications and are particularly keen to support projects that offer unique and innovative programmes. These could vary from projects working with young women or specific targeted cohort. We will endeavour to support as many key projects as possible to deliver a meaningful programme for young people across the holiday periods. MAYP will hold a surgery to provide support to applicants on 15th and 16th January 2014 between 2 – 4 pm. Applicants are required to book in advance as spaces are limited.
