If you are claiming benefits, you may be affected. Households who are not in work or have less than 24 hours work per week will be affected most. The impact of these changes could be serious and some households may no longer be able to afford their current housing costs. Tower Hamlets Council and its partners are helping prepare residents for the Government changes. You can also call our benefits advice line on Mayor Lutfur Rahman and Deputy Mayor Ohid Ahmed with Partnership Task Force officers and Tower Hamlets enforcement officers A CAMPAIGN encouraging residents to report anti-social behaviour to the police non-emergency number, 101, has been launched by the council. Adverts describing the types of behaviour that can be reported to 101 have appeared in local media and at bus stops across the borough. Mayor Lutfur Rahman said: “Community safety is my priority and reducing anti-social behaviour is a key element of that. We work closely with the police to tackle anti-social behaviour in the borough and Planning E1 Ocean Estate site H, west of Aston Street, including Allonby, Channel and Studland Houses – demolition of existing buildings and construction of three residential blocks between three and 13 storeys high, comprising 225 residential dwellings with landscaping and basement parking.
