Language of Dance The Grand Union Orchestra (above and below) will be presenting a monthly Bengali music showcase From Bengal to Bethnal Green with Grand Union THE Grand Union Orchestra will present a monthly series celebrating Bengali music and the arts in east London. Bengal to Bethnal Green will take place on the second Sunday of each month, beginning on February 8 until June 14. The show is directed by internationally celebrated tabla star Yousuf Ali Khan, and features guest Bengali singer Sanjoy Dey alongside the renowned world and jazz musicians of the Grand Union Orchestra, who regularly visit Bangladesh on tour. The Domestic Extremists follows the story of young director Chloe, who wishes to make a documentary about the marketization of universities. However, when her story is picked up by a channel, Chloe sees the project become distorted and sensationalised by executives demanding something more watchable. As she uncovers more information, Chloe must choose between her conscience and her career. The script is written by playwright and TV producer Dan Davies, who has worked for the BBC, Associated Press and Al Jazeera English. His work has been performed at the National Theatre Studio and on BBC Radio 4. The Domestic Extremists runs from February 10-28.
