The impact of these changes could be serious and some households may no longer be able to afford their current housing costs. Share what you love and pinpoint problem areas THE Find it, Fix it, Love it app is a great way for residents and visitors to share what they love about the borough and report issues that need fixing. The app – known as FiFiLi – celebrates all that is good in Tower Hamlets and users are encouraged to share pictures and comments about things they love – anything from a special place or landmark, to a quirky shop or local character. The council wants to make the borough an even cleaner and safer place to live, work or visit and the app is proving a vital tool in achieving this, with more than 1,720 reports being made since April 2014. It also allows residents and visitors to easily and instantly tell the council about any issues that need addressing such as graffiti, fly-tipping, broken play equipment, potholes or overflowing bins. The app is also the quickest way of reporting dumped items such as mattresses and sofas. A snap shared through FiFiLi Users simply take a picture of a problem spot and the app will pinpoint their location and send the details directly to the council’s environmental contractors, ensuring the issue can be dealt with swiftly. Users can highlight specific areas on the image or send comments and contact details if they want feedback, but this is optional. Cllr Shahed Ali, cabinet member for clean and green, said: “The app has proved a popular way to tell the council what needs fixing or cleaning in the borough. “I would encourage everyone who can to download the app and use it. “The app is allowing council cleaning services to be shaped into a more efficient operation ensuring areas that need that extra attention receive it.” Feedback has come from users including Ella from Brick Lane who said the app was “a brilliant idea”. “Every time I have used it with an issue, I have received a prompt and direct response. “Personally, I think all councils should adopt this app as it really does help the community and makes my street a nicer place to live.” Download the app for free at the Apple App Store or via Google Play, search for FiFiLi.
